Morning Session: Approaching AI with Care: the “Garbage In, Garbage Out” Reality in the Age of AI
Artificial Intelligence is reshaping industries and redefining what’s possible, but the age-old warning “garbage in, garbage out” still holds true. The success of any AI initiative depends on the quality, governance, and integrity of its data.
This session explores how data management professionals can contribute to AI initiatives, overcoming unrealistic expectations, data limitations, and ethical challenges. Studies have shown success with a constrained approach.
Through insights and examples, attendees will learn how disciplined, well-governed approaches consistently yield smarter, more reliable AI outcomes. Understanding these will permit data management professionals (and others) to create a virtuous cycle of better data leading to more successful AI systems.
Afternoon Session: Generative AI for Data Management Professionals
Artificial Intelligence isn’t replacing data professionals—it’s empowering those who know how to use it. As the saying goes, “Your job won’t be taken by AI, but by someone who uses AI better than you.” The sooner you begin to use various AI capabilities, the more effective will be your data practices.
This workshop explores Generative AI (GenAI) through the lens of data management (specifically focusing this program on monetizing, data leadership, and data governance). Participants will gain a practical understanding of how GenAI amplifies human expertise rather than replacing it. Attendees will leave with actionable insights on integrating GenAI responsibly and effectively into their professional toolkit.
Whether you’re a data steward, architect, or governance leader, this session will show you how to leverage GenAI to elevate your practice and stay ahead in the evolving data landscape.
